Pornhub and its parent business were sued by dozens of women on Thursday, alleging that the site benefited from films portraying rape, child sexual exploitation, trafficking, and other nonconsensual sexual activity.
Pornhub parent firm MindGeek, one of the largest online pornographic organizations, is accused of being a "typical criminal enterprise" with a business structure designed to commercialize nonconsensual sexual content, according to the civil lawsuit, which Pornhub disputes.
Brown Rudnick LLP filed the claim on behalf of 34 alleged sexual exploitation victims, including minors, rape, and human trafficking, demanding damages and protection for the plaintiffs.
