Norway police identify the body on the shore as Kurdish-Iranian toddler

Family Handout

The body of a baby found on Norway's shore has been identified as that of a missing 15-month-old who drowned in the English Channel last year, according to police.

When the boat they were traveling in sank in October, the youngster, Artin, died along with four family members.

The Kurdish-Iranian family had attempted to enter the United Kingdom from France.

As the family awaited word on what had happened to Artin, relatives expressed their anguish and confusion.

The bones of the infant will now be flown back to Iran to be buried.
