The UK Border Force reportedly intercepted migrants attempting to cross the English Channel in the French seas.

The Home Office has launched an urgent investigation into accusations that a swift inflatable boat was dispatched to rescue the migrants and transport them to Dover.

According to the Daily Mail, the controversial move was arranged between senior crew members of the HMC Valiant and the French patrol ship Athos last Saturday.

In maritime radio communication, officers discuss the operation's 'legality,' according to the report.

“We are urgently investigating the circumstances behind this incident,” a Home Office spokesperson said.
