Star of Drake and Josh, Drake Bell arrested for child endangerment

Drake Bell, the star of the TV show Drake & Josh, has been arrested and charged with child endangerment.

According to sources, the 34-year-old actor, who rose to stardom on the Nickelodeon sitcom in his teens, is facing accusations of attempted child endangerment and transmitting material detrimental to juveniles.

Drake, whose real name is Jared Drake Bell, is accused of committing the crime in December 2017.

5 News He was indicted by a grand jury in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, according to a local ABC affiliate.

Drake has entered a not guilty plea and is being held on a $2,500 bond.

Bell allegedly had an inappropriate conversation with a youngster that "at times was sexual in nature," according to Fox 8 in Cleveland.

“The facts will be revealed in the courtroom,” his lawyer added.

He is expected to return to court for a pre-trial hearing later this month.

Drake was sentenced to 96 hours in prison in 2016 after being convicted of DUI.

He reportedly made a plea deal after the Los Angeles District Attorney filed a misdemeanor charge against him arising from an incident on December 21, 2015.

Following his arrest late last year for driving under the influence in Glendale, California, the comedian was also sentenced to four years probation, according to E! News at the time.

Drake was driving at 55 km/h in a 35 km/h zone, according to TMZ at the time.

Officers "smelled an odor of alcohol" on the 29-year-old actor and gave a sobriety test, which Drake "did not properly pass," according to Glendale Police spokesman Tahnee Lightfoot.

In 2009, he was also charged with a DUI in San Diego.
