Biden Administration declares state of Emergency following the pipeline cyber attacks

After the most significant cyber attack in the history of US pipelines the  Department of Transportation's Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration issued an State of Emergency.

The Department of Transportation's Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration issued a regional emergency declaration for 17 states and Washington, D.C., to keep fuel supply lines open.

The White House has says that the Biden administration is working to resume the the operations after the ransom ware attack.

The company Colonial Pipeline has shut its entire system down after a cyber attack. Colonial Pipeline carries 45% of fuel supplies in the eastern U.S. Some 5,500 miles of pipeline.

While gasoline and diesel prices aren't expected to be impacted if pipeline operations resume in the next few days, fuel suppliers are becoming "increasingly nervous" about possible shortages, according to Bloomberg.
