In response to rocket fire from the Palestinian enclave, the Israeli Air Force carried out attacks on three Hamas installations, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Friday.
The IDF announced late Thursday that a missile had been launched from Gaza at Israel.
"IDF fighter jets and attack helicopters just hit a Hamas arms production site, a missile smuggling tunnel, and a military post in response to the rocket fired from Gaza at Israel earlier tonight," the IDF wrote on Twitter.
Israel does not accept any threat to its people, according to the IDF.
Hamas, a Palestinian Sunni militant group that controls the Gaza Strip, has been involved in an on-again, off-again dispute with Israel, which continues to refuse to recognize Palestine as a separate political and diplomatic body. Any attack from the Gaza Strip is blamed on Hamas, according to Israel.
