For the first time since the military coup, Myanmar's military regime has announced death penalties to its citizen.

19 people have been sentenced to the death penalty on accusations of killing an assistant to the military general.

According to the report, the captain's aide was killed on March 27 in the North Okkalapa district of Yangon

Authorities say the court sentenced the man under martial law, which has been imposed, in the district.

The Security Forces for the Military have so far killed nearly 700 people following the military coup.
