Ma Htet Htet Win, 19, was shot by the regime forces on Sunday when she was riding on a bike behind her husband while returning home after work.

The shooting occurred at around 9 pm on Monday. 

Rescuers say her husband, who was riding the bike, was also hit by a bullet in the abdomen. They say the soldiers told them to stop and open fire when they rode away.

A rescuer, who retrieved Htet Win's body, said it was difficult to reach her home, 20 minutes from the scene, as they had to hide from the security forces.

Rescuers said the woman, who was dead before rescuers got to her, likely died due to a head injury after falling from the bike. The man had an operation on his abdominal wound.
