Florida Governor Ron DeSantis banned the use of vaccine passports in his state, saying that vaccine passports restrict individual freedom.

The Republican governor issued an executive order on Friday which prohibits government offices from issuing any "standardized documentation" which certifies that an individual has been vaccinated against COVID-19.

The order also prohibits businesses in Florida from requiring any certification of being immunized against the disease from their customers.

DeSantis, who is also a Trump supporter, argues that the vaccine passports "reduce individual freedom and will harm patient's privacy."

DeSantis also said that the government restrictions on private individuals and companies as unacceptable.

"You want to go to a movie theater. Should you have to show that? No. You want to go to a game? No. You want to go to a theme park? No. We're not supportive of that," he had told in a press conference, Monday.
