The military-controlled security forces opened fire on a funeral held for a youth who was killed on Saturday.

Mourners fled the funeral at Bago as the security forces opened rounds of fire. There have been no reports of casualty in the incident.

The funeral was held for 20-year-old Thae Maung Maung, who lost his life on the bloodiest day since the military seized power.

Previously, on Friday, the military had openly acknowledged its "shoot-to-kill" policy against the protesters.

Protesters are undeterred despite the massive use of violence by the military. The death toll at the Myanmar protests has neared 500 since the Military coup on February 1.
