After the First Suicide Squad movie, released in 2016, got a very harsh opinion from the fans and critics about the movie, DC decided to reboot the franchise hiring James Gunn as the director.

The official trailer for the James Gunn version of the movie has been released. James Gunn is popular for his works in the Marvel movie series, The Guardian of the Galaxy.

The new movie seems more light-hearted with more R-rated scenes. An interesting thing in this reboot of The Suicide Squad Franchise is that it retains the actor to portray the same character from the original movie.

Margot Robbie is returning as Harley Quinn in the movie. Similarly, the roles Amanda Walker, Captain Boomerang, and Rick Flag will be reprised by Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, and Joel Kinnaman.

The movie will also introduce new characters like Bloodsport to the franchise which will be portrayed by Idris Elba.

The Suicide Squad is set to release on the 6th of August 2021, at both cinemas and the streaming service, HBO Max.
