Dominion Voting System files a $1.6 Million defamation lawsuit for "falsely claiming" that the voting company rigged the 2020 elections.

It is the first defamation case filed by the voting company against a media outlet. Dominion has sued several Trump allies including Rudy Guiliani for falsely accusing the company to be involved in voter fraud.

Dominion argues that the News Outlet amplified inaccurate assertions against the voting company.

“The truth matters. Lies have consequences,” the lawsuit said. “Fox sold a false story of election fraud to serve its own commercial purposes, severely injuring Dominion in the process. If this case does not rise to the level of defamation by a broadcaster, then nothing does.”

Dominion said in the lawsuit that it tried repeatedly to set the record straight but was ignored by Fox News.

The company argues that Fox News, a network that features several pro-Trump personalities, pushed the false claims to explain away the former president’s loss.
