In 'Zack Snyder's Justice League,' Jared Leto says his Joker is an "evolution" of the character from 'Suicide Squad.'

The 49-year-old actor has returned to reprise his role as the iconic Batman villain in the 'Snyder Cut' version of 'Justice League,' claiming that the character is vastly different from when he first played it in David Ayer's 2016 DC Extended Universe film, noting how Joker's appearance reflects the changes.

"I think it's an evolution," Jared said on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert," "there's some years apart (between the two), and when you work with different directors, they bring out different things in you."

Jared had previously stated that he enjoyed working on the project with Snyder, describing him as a "madman" and a "warrior."

"He's a hero," said the guitarist of Thirty Seconds to Mars. "He's insane. He is someone I adore."

"With every character I play, I do miss them a little bit when I'm done playing with them, done playing the parts. I don't know if it's because I work so hard and tend to dig really deep and put a lot of time and energy into it, but when I'm done playing with them, done playing the parts, I do miss them a little bit."

Jared expressed his excitement at the prospect of reprising his role as the Joker, as well as revealing that he would be open to reprising his roles as Niander Wallace and Albert Sparma, respectively, in 'Blade Runner 2049' and 'The Little Things.'

He explained, "You do all this work and then you're done, so it's good to go back over it." What's wonderful about roles like the Joker and Sparma is that they can be intense and dark, but there's also a lot of freedom and abandonment in them.

"And that's a lot of fun for me, for the other actors, and for the crew. There was a lot of laughter and joy on set with both of those roles because you would improvise and say something really funny. So it's always a lot of fun when you can hear people laughing on the other side of the camera, and that's something I like."
