Afghanistan: Insurgent attacks targeted on women and minorities escalated

In Afghanistan, targeted attacks against civilians, especially against women and minorities, have escalated in recent times.

Attacks in Afghanistan have surged in recent times. Women, Minorities, Activists, journalists, and security forces have been major targets of the attack.

It is not yet clear who has been conducting these attacks as most of the attacks have gone unclaimed.

However, government officials have blamed the attack on the Taliban.

At least five women have been killed in a series of attacks that have taken place recently.

Journalists and civil rights activities were also targeted.

Seven Factory workers of a minority Hazara community were killed.

Some of the attacks have been claimed by the Islamic State of Khorasan Province (ISKP) which is an ISIS affiliate in the region.
