Three people were killed and several have been injured after a vehicle hits pedestrians near San Diego City College, early Monday.

According to San Diego Police, the incident happened at 9 a.m. local time.

Police said that there were at least 9 victims of the accident, including three dead and two severely injured.

The car veered into the sidewalk hitting people after the vehicle lost control. The 71-year-old  driver has been detained by the San Diego Police Department.

Further probation to the case is underway.
