Students kidnapped from a boarding school in Nigeria have been released on Tuesday. The students who were kidnapped from the north-western state of Zamfara have been released after negotiations.
The state's governor Bello Matawalle said that the girls. were kidnapped from the Government Girls Science Secondary School in the Jungabe town on Friday.
In a statement, Matawalle said, "Following a series of dialogue and mediation with repentant bandits and scaling hurdles of those who want to scuttle our effort to secure the release of Jangebe schoolgirls, I am happy to announce that, the students have been released."
A total of 317 girls were abducted by gunmen from a secondary school in Zamfara. The girls were reunited with the family at about 4 am local time on Tuesday Morning.
Governor said no ransom was paid to anyone. "I insisted that we were not going to give anything to any of them," the governor said.
An arrangement to examine girls at a medical facility is being made.
