Latest : Russian military helicopter crashes in Northeast Syria

By Dylan Malyasov

On February 28, the Syrian media reported that a Russian military helicopter has crashed two kilometers from the former dairy farm that Russian forces use as their base, in the town of Tel Tamr, north of Syria’s Hasakah.

Three persons are reportedly injured while the pilot is dead. The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed in a statement on Sunday that a Russian Mi-35 attack helicopter has made an emergency landing in Syria while patrolling the sky over the Al-Hasakah Governorate.

The chopper had not come under fire but was forced to land due to technical issues. After crashing, the crew was immediately taken to an airfield by a base team. Further details are yet to come.
