It has been fixed that an Afro-American woman will be leading the WTO for the first time from the next term.

Nigeria born Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is set to start the next term as the WTO chief. The former finance minister to Nigeria has been recently backed by the US president Joe Biden.

Previously, Trump Administration had shown its support to Yoo Myung-hee from South Korea. She immediately responded to Biden's Support to Iweala by dropping her bid to become the WTO chief. This has made certain that the Nigerian women will be taking charge of the World Trade Organization.

The new leader to the WTO will be decided in October. There are 164 member nations to the WTO.
