Biden Administration has decided to revoke the decision to designate the Yemeni Houthi Group as a terrorists group in order to address the largest humanitarian crisis.

During his last days at the office, Trump's Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo had announced the designation of Yemeni Houthi Rebels as the terrorist organization. The decision was widely criticized by world bodies and humanitarian agencies.

A State Department official confirmed the move on Friday after the Congress-members were notified of the Biden Administration's plans.

ABC-News quotes an official who spoke to the medium on the condition of anonymity, “Our action is due entirely to the humanitarian consequences of this last-minute designation from the prior administration, which the United Nations and humanitarian organizations have since made clear would accelerate the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.”

The decision comes after the Biden Administration decided to take back its support to military operations carried out by Saudi Arabia in the Arabian Peninsula. Saudi Arabia had got support from the  USA to carry out the military operations in Yemen against the Houthis during the Obama presidency in 2015. Biden was the vice-president at that time.
