The Saudi government announced on Friday that it had extended the travel ban.

According to the officials, the new decision restricts travel until May 17. The government has extended the travel ban, saying the travel ban should not be overturned as the coronavirus epidemic remains dangerous.

Saudi Arabia has banned citizens from traveling within the country, going to sea, and crossing the border by air and land since March 13 last year.

Saudi Arabia's interior ministry said in a statement that the travel ban had been extended due to delays in the delivery of the vaccine.

A further 267 cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in Saudi Arabia on Friday alone, government officials said. Two people have died in the same period. A total of 6,368 people have died of coronavirus in Saudi Arabia so far.
