Mukhammetkalyy Duyshekeyevich Abylgaziyev, former Kyrgyz Primeminister who served the country from 20 April 2018 to 15 June 2020, has been arrested on corruption charges.

Police said some evidence of corruption had been found against him and hence he is being held for further investigation.

He has been accused of violating the law, abusing resources and power, and harming the state during his time as prime minister.

It has been stated that he has committed irregularities regarding the use and operation of mineral resources. The police are also investigating other stakeholders.

Officials say his actual income seems to be much more than what he shows.

Many of his assets have been found all over the country and his source of income is not said to be reliable.
