Thousands of people ordered UFC 257 in the United States since their only option to legally watch the event was the ESPN+ streaming service. So when the network was inaccessible for many fight fans, Twitter was flooded with complaints from thousands of fans and even from UFC fighters themselves.
The streaming service has probably been fixed by the time this is published, but ESPN did release a statement addressing this situation.
“We are aware of an issue impacting some fans’ ability to access tonight’s PPV event and are working to resolve it as quickly as possible,” cited The Athletic’s, Richard Deitsch.
Still, this is seemingly isolated to the United States, many are not too happy that they forked over $70 and didn’t get the full broadcast as they were promised.
Such technical problems are a major risk when it’s a massive pay-per-view which has only one way to watch it legally.
