The award is Lewandowski's biggest individual prize of his career yet. After his 55-goals season that swept Bayern towards various domestic and international awards, Polish captain Lewandowski was entitled the FIFA Best Men's Player Of The Year 2020.
Meanwhile, Manchester City and English defender Lucy Bronze stole the same award for women, being entitled the FIFA Best Women's Player for the year. The ceremony was completed as a virtual event due to the pandemic.
Both of the players have won the award for the first time in their entire career.
Lewandowski, after being the only player to deny the award to either between Messi and Ronaldo in 13 years, after Croatian cum Real Madrid midfielder Luca Modric in 2018, speaks his regards, "Today I am among them." He added, "It means I've always done right things in my life."
