Britain records 367 more Covid-19 deaths in darkest day since end of May but outbreak continues to slow with another 22,885 infections - a rise of just 7% in a week

Britain today recorded 367 more Covid-19 deaths in the darkest day since end of May. But Government statistics suggests the outbreak is continuing to slow down with another 22,885 infections added to the total - a rise of just 7 per cent in a week. For comparison, 241 deaths and 21,331 cases were recorded last Tuesday, which is the first day of the week to take into account a recording lag over the weekend. It comes as separate data today revealed the number of Britons dying from Covid-19 reached a four-month high last week after they rose by more than 50 per cent in seven days.
