The first presidential debate between a Republican and a Democrat candidate in the US presidential election has sparked a series of accusations between Donald Trump and Joe Widen.

In a 90-minute debate in Cleveland, Ohio, Republican presidential candidate Trump, who is running for a second term, leveled serious allegations against Biden, saying that if he had been president today, 200 million people would have died in the country because of Corona.

Aiming at Trump's remarks, Biden called the current president the most liar in the country.

The presidential debate, which was moderated by Fox News anchor Chris Wallace, began at 8:30 pm local time. Wallace also moderated the 2016 debate. Trump's rival at the time was Hillary Clinton.

The second debate will be on October 15 and the third on October 22. The presidential election is being held on November 3.

The tradition of presidential candidates participating in debates before elections is 164 years old.
