India pandemic tally 78,761 fresh cases with 948 deaths in 24 hour

In the past 24 hours, the highest number of cases were recorded in a single day. The Indian Health Ministry on Saturday reported there were 78,761 fresh cases of the pandemic (Covid-19).

Globally, 25,164,818 people have been infected with the virus so far.

India’s death toll rose to 948 deaths recorded in the past 24 hours, pushing the total to over 35,42,733 coronavirus cases.

Meanwhile, a total of 3,14,61,636 samples were tested across the country as of Saturday, said the Indian Council of Medical Research.

Epidemiologists warned that the risk of corona in India would increase in the coming weeks and months. Health experts say the true extent of the pandemic spread in India is unknown and that the country must test more.
