An evening curfew will be implemented across Melbourne from 8 p.m to 5 a.m. after a state of disaster was declared in Australia’s hard-hit Victoria on Sunday night as State Premier Daniel Andrews declares.
Mr. Andrews warned Metropolitan Melbourne residents are allowed to follow new restrictions for six weeks until mid-September.
As 671 new coronavirus cases had been reported since in the past 24 hours, including seven deaths.
The death toll rose to 208 in Victoria.
Metropolitan residents will allow only one person per household to go shopping once a day.
Melbournians must exercise within 5 km (3miles) from home.
Essential businesses will be kept open under stage four lockdowns.
