Unidentified hacker broke the official Twitter accounts of politicians, celebrities, major companies, and many high profile accounts by scammers in an apparent Bitcoin scam.

The list of accounts hijacked by scammers grew rapidly to include Billionaires Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, Democratic presidential front-runner Joe Biden, former President Barack Obama, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, bitcoin specialty firms and many others.

Celebrities Kanye West and his wife, Kim Kardashian West, were also hacked.

The fake tweets offered to send the addresses below will be sent back to double. The tweets offered to send $2000 for every $1000 sent to an anonymous Bitcoin address.

Twitter said it was a planned attack targeting its employees. “Tough day for us at Twitter,” chief executive Jack Dorsey said in a tweet.

 A hacker used Twitter’s own ‘admin’ tool to spread cryptocurrency scam. There is no evidence that the owners of these accounts were targeted themselves. The fake tweets were all quickly deleted.
