Country Music Hall of Famer, singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist, Charlie Daniels, dies on Monday morning. He was 83.
The doctors of Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, Tennessee, determined his cause of death was a hemorrhagic stroke.
Daniels was named a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 2008 and the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2016. He was a very popular artist during the 70s and 80s.
He had long established a remarkable, multifaceted career in Music City. He had migrated from an earlier countercultural stance epitomized on "Long Haired Country Boy" to become an advocate for patriotism and the military.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel, and son Charlie Daniels, Jr.
