Elon Musk, the new owner of Twitter, announced another directive via a Twitter poll on Thursday.

The controversial billionaire intended to grant "amnesty" to banned accounts after more than 70 percent of users favored reinstating banned accounts that have not broken any laws or engaged in "egregious spam."

Musk tweeted "The people have spoken" on Thanksgiving. "Amnesty begins next week. The Latin phrase "Vox Populi, Vox Dei" means "the voice of the people, the voice of God."

This is the second time in recent days that Musk has made a significant decision regarding the future of the social media company based on unscientific polling that is easily influenced by bots.

He announced former President Donald Trump was permitted to return to the site after being expelled on January 6, 2021, following the riot. Trump has not tweeted since his return and stated that he will not return to the company.

Trump now regularly shares his online opinions on Truth Social.

Musk, also the CEO of Tesla, announced the formation of a "content moderation council" the day after he became Twitter's administrator one month ago.

However, he stated on Tuesday that he would not move forward with this proposal because "a large coalition of political-social activist groups" later "broke the deal" by urging advertisers to temporarily cease doing business with Twitter.

Musk also made headlines this week when he reinstated Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene's account. She was banned in January for violating COVID misinformation policies-related rules.
