This morning, a magnitude 6.6 earthquake struck Nepal, according to the country's seismological center, with media outlets claiming six deaths.
ANI, a partner of Reuters, reported that six persons were discovered dead in the Doti district of Nepal after a house collapsed due to the earthquake.
Earlier, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) estimated the magnitude of the earthquake to be 5.6.
The earthquake was centered 158 kilometers (98 miles) northeast of Pilibhit, a city in the neighboring Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, and happened 10 kilometers below the surface, according to EMSC.
Media reports after the quake showed that tremors were also felt in India's capital, New Delhi, and nearby locations.
India's National Center for Seismology assessed the quake at a magnitude of 6.3.
