Sunday, after a fourth Muslim man was assassinated in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in what officials call intentional killings, Vice President Joe Biden voiced his support for the Muslim community.

In a tweet after learning of the fourth death, Biden expressed disgust and sorrow over the killings.

Biden tweeted, "While we await a full investigation, my prayers are with the victims’ families, and my administration stands strongly with the Muslim community,” Biden said in a Twitter post. “These hateful attacks have no place in America.”

The most recent killing, which occurred Friday evening, was investigated by New Mexico police and federal agencies.

Police have stated that the other three Muslim males killed in the state's major city over the preceding nine months appeared to have been targeted because of their religion and race.

In late July and early August in Albuquerque, two deceased men were members of the same mosque. Police stated that there was a "strong possibility" that their deaths were related to the murder of an Afghan immigrant in November.

The New Mexico State Police, the Federal Bureau of Inquiry, and the United States Marshals Service assisted in the investigation.

In a late-Saturday tweet, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham of New Mexico stated, "The targeted killings of Muslim residents of Albuquerque are deeply upsetting and completely intolerable."
