On Sunday, the Palestinian health ministry reported that 29 people, including six children, have died due to the Israeli attack on Gaza.

The health ministry also reported that 253 individuals had been wounded in Gaza since the outbreak of hostilities with Israel on Friday.

Saturday, at least four children were killed in an explosion near the Jabaliya refugee camp, according to Hamas, the government of the Gaza Strip.

Six children have been slain since Friday, bringing the total number of Palestinian deaths to 24. According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, at least 204 others have also been wounded.

In a statement released on Sunday, Islamic Jihad acknowledged that its commander in the southern Gaza Strip, Khaled Mansour, had been killed in an Israeli attack on Saturday.

Taysir al-Jabari, the group's northern commander, was the first high-ranking Islamic Jihad member to be murdered since Israel began striking Gaza on Friday. Mansour is the second high-ranking Islamic Jihad member to be slain since Israel began attacking Gaza on Friday.

Israel has warned that its assault against Islamic Jihad might take up to a week, and its attacks on Gaza have demolished residential complexes and hit refugee camps.
