The explosive was discovered after an officer's acquaintance detected something under his car. The additional examination uncovered the explosive, necessitating further investigation and the help of a bomb squad.

The explosive was defused without incident. Fingerprints were tested on the car and explosives by crime scene technicians. There has been no arrest, and it is unknown whether there is a person of interest.
