It has been reported that Afghani President Ashraf Ghani has fleed the country to Tajikistan as the Taliban surrounds the Afghan Capital.
Videos have been posted on Social media and Afghani News Agency Tolo reported that the Afghan President has fled the country.
In a recent series of events, it was also reported that Ghani had resigned from the President and handed over the power to the militant group that has now taken over most of Afghanistan.
The news has not been confirmed as of yet.
It has also been reported that the Taliban is inside the Afghan Presidential Palace and negotiations are being made for the peaceful transfer of power.
Taliban has taken control of 26 out o 34 provincial capitals and has also surrounded the capital Kabul.
On the other side of things, the Russian foreign ministry has issued a statement saying Moscow does not yet recognize the Taliban as the lawful authority in Afghanistan.
Iran said it has prepared accommodation in three provinces bordering Afghanistan to provide temporary refuge to Afghans fleeing the conflict in their country.
“Camps have been built in border areas in three provinces,” Interior Ministry official Hossein Qasemi told Iran’s state news agency IRNA.
“We expect those Afghan refugees to return home when the situation improves in Afghanistan.”
Armed Talibani Militants have surrounded the Afghan Capital, however, the Taliban has said it will allow the movement and resist the use of violence.
Fighters remained “at the city’s gates” as sporadic gunfire was heard in largely quiet streets.
