For a generation of football fans Casillas, Ronaldo, and Ramos were kind of synonymous with Real Madrid. However, all like all beautiful things this too had an end.

Casillas left Madrid in 2015, then Ronaldo left the club three years later in 2018. Now, three years post to that defender Sergio Ramos has been confirmed to leave the club.

The club has announced that it will bid farewell to the legend on Thursday at a press conference.

Ramos's contract with Madrid is expiring at the end of June. The club was reported to be willing to keep Ramos with pay cuts, however, the veteran center back decided to depart.

A statement from the club read: "Real Madrid announces that tomorrow, Thursday 17 June, at 12:30 pm, an act of tribute and farewell to our captain Sergio Ramos will be held, which will be attended by our president Florentino Perez.

"Sergio Ramos will then appear before the media in a virtual press conference."

Ramos, who joined the club in 2005, played over 670 matches and won five Liga titles and four Champions league.

Besides his great career as a center-back, he is also known for his occasional goals which often came to rescue the team.

The 35-year-old scored 72 goals in Madrid which makes him the third-highest goal scorer for Madrid as a defender.
