The US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schummer urged the New York Governor Andrew Cuomo to resign, amid the sexual harassment allegations.
Chuck represents the state of New York in the Senate. Schummer released a joint statement with the other New York Democrat Senator Kirsten Gillibrand saying it will be difficult for Cuomo to hold on to the power amid such allegations and it'll be better to resign.
"Due to the multiple, credible sexual harassment and misconduct allegations, it is clear that Governor Cuomo has lost the confidence of his governing partners and the people of New York. Governor Cuomo should resign," they said in the joint statement.
Cuomo, however, is firm on his claims of being innocent and has already apologized saying his actions "might have been misinterpreted.
It seems a difficult task for the New York Governor who is standing increasing alone amid the accusations.
