Two people died in Myanmar after police opened rounds of bullets against the protesters protesting the Military coup.

According to local sources, at least two people have died and several have been wounded following the display of violence by the security personnel.

Police opened fire in the different parts of the economic capital of the country, Yangon. The initial attempts of stun grenades and tear gas to disperse the crowd had failed.

Also in the southern town of Dawei, police killed one and wounded several.

Reuters first reported the news citing a local politician Kyaw Min Htike.

Police have also cracked down against the protesters in other major cities including the second largest city of Mandalay and the northeastern town of Lashio.

Junta leader claimed last week, the authorities were using minimal force to deal with protests.

At least five protesters have died so far died in police crackdowns. Military officials say a policeman has been killed in the protests.

Despite the continuous use of violence and threats from the Junta government, people continue to protest on the streets.

Protesters say they would never kneel against the tyranny to be enslaved again.

Myanmar was under more than half a century of military rule before democracy was restored in 2011.

The military overthrew an elected government on February 1 and has captivated the leaders of the then-ruling-party including State Counsellor Daw Aung Sang Suu Kyi.
