A United Airlines Boeing had to make an emergency return to Denver International Airport on Sunday after its debris rained following an engine failure in the city suburb.
The airline said nobody on board was injured.
United Flight 328 headed from Honolulu when the incident occurred around 1:30 pm local time. The plan made a safe landing according to Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Allen Kenitzer.
FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the incident.
The flight was carrying 231 passengers and 10 crew members according to a United Airlines spokesperson, David Gonzalez.
Airport spokeswoman Alex Renteria said that the plane departed Denver around 12:15 pm and returned around 1:30 pm.
