Antonio Guterres, General Secretary of the United Nations, has requested the International community curb the Military Coup in Myanmar.
He said that the perpetrators of the Coup should be let known that it is not the way to rule a country. He also said overturning the election is unacceptable.
The United Nations Security Council is discussing a possible statement condemning the Coup. However, China is not expected to have a word in this matter.
Monday Morning, Myanmar Military Chief took power detaining the leaders of the ruling party including the Primeminister Aung San Suu Kyi. What the military calls a "military emergence" has been widely criticized and protested for being a Military Coup.
The Military however, denies taking over the power saying the emergence is temporary to conduct "free and fair elections."
