President Donald Trump will be far away in Florida when his successor Joe Biden will be taking oath as the President of the United States.
Trump will be flying to Florida via a chartered helicopter for Mar-a-Lago Golf Club, which is his legal residence, and soon will be his home after the White House. He will be leaving the Presidential quarter hours before the inauguration.
After months of denial of the election defeat, Trump decided not to attend the inauguration ceremony on the twentieth of January. The decision came after the sixth of January when a violent mob raided the Capitol Building.
The last time a president missed his regularly scheduled successor's inauguration was more than 150 years ago when Andrew Johnson boycotted Ulysses S. Grant's inauguration in 1869.
Richard Nixon previously in 1974, did not attend Gerald Ford's inauguration after a mid-term resignation.
