Vice President of the United States, Mike Pence wrote a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi saying he won't invoke 25th Amendment to remove Donald Trump. The house was taking a vote on a resolution that urges Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment.
"I do not believe that such a course of action is in the best interest of our Nation or consistent with the Constitution.", Pence said, "Last week, I did not yield to pressure to exert beyond my constitutional authority to determine the outcome of the election, and I will not now yield to efforts in the House of Representatives to play political games at a time so serious in the life of our Nation."
25th Amendment has never been invoked to remove a president since it was put into law in 1967. Vice President Gerald Ford used the article used the other part of the amendment to assume power, following the resignation of President Richard Nixon. But it has no precedence of being used to remove the President.
Although recently, the Vice President has been seemingly angry with the President for inciting riots, he will be invoking the amendment until he absolutely has to do it. Since Trump is going out of office in less than a week anyway, it mightn't be the time.
