In a shooting in the German capital Berlin in the early hours of Saturday, four people were wounded, police said.
A police spokeswoman said that four people in the altercation involving multiple people in the Kreuzberg district were taken to the hospital, adding that there was no suggestion of a political motive.
She said there was no sign of a political motive, but that it was still quite uncertain about the case.
The shooting took place at a gate on Stresemannstrasse, near the offices of the center-left Social Democratic Party(SPD), a photographer for the DPA said.
To hunt for those who may have carried out the shooting, armed officers were dispatched to the scene.
Reports say that after he jumped in to try to stop the shooting, one of the wounded men was pulled out of a nearby river.
The other three, DPA reported, were found in a driveway.
The injured were initially treated at the scene by emergency services, but they have now been transferred to hospitals.
A police helicopter was seen circling the scene, reports said.
