The new full-length teaser for the upcoming HBO Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon is filled with dragons.
The 10-part series, featuring Matt Smith and Emma D'Arcy as feuding Targaryen, is scheduled for release on August 21.
A new teaser published before San Diego Comic-Con 2022 depicts massive CGI animals spitting fire and causing destruction as war is launched.
Members of the royal family, Daemon Targaryen (Smith) and Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen emerge, engaged in a conflict over who will reign atop the renowned Iron Throne.
"No woman has ever sat on the Iron Throne," Rhaenyra is informed when King Viserys Targaryen, portrayed by Paddy Considine, considers his successor.
He says, "I will not be forced to choose between my brother and my daughter."
The clip depicts the violent fights that ensued, with many willing to dispute Rhaenyra's position as queen.
House Of The Dragon is based on the novel Fire & Blood by George RR Martin, set two hundred years before the events of Game Of Thrones.
Martin had previously stated on his online blog that he was "very excited" about the series and "dying" to share details with fans, despite being under a confidentiality agreement.
The author is scheduled to join series cast members for a panel at Comic-Con on Saturday.
