Watch: China launches new Tianhui satellites

China successfully sent a pair of Tianhui II-02 satellites into orbit from Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in north China's Shanxi Province on Thursday morning.

The satellites, developed by the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology (SAST), were launched by a Long March-4B carrier rocket at 6:32 a.m., and will be mainly used for scientific experiments and research, land and resources surveying, and geographic surveying and mapping.

This is the 9th mission of the Long March-4B carrier rocket series this year and the 384th flight mission of the Long March series.
