A newly released body-cam footage shows a Maryland Police officer handcuffed a 5-year-old kid and screamed at the boy saying his mother should beat him.
The video footage released by Montgomery County Sheriff's Office sheds new light on an encounter that's now the subject of a lawsuit filed by the boy's mother.
Officer can be seen putting the boy in the back of his police squad car, and the boy sobs as he is driven back to school.
The officers encourage his mother to beat him when she arrives at school, the body-cam footage shows.
"We want you to beat him," an officer says. When his mother replies that she can't go to prison, the officer responds, "You don't go to prison for beating your child."
The video also shows the child being handcuffed by the police in front of his mother.
