Sunday, a Russian fighter jet crashed into a home in Siberia, killing both pilots as Ukraine allegedly bombarded the Belgorod region, according to Russian officials.
Irkutsk governor Igor Kobzev stated in a Telegram message that the pilots were killed when the Su-30 aircraft crashed during a test flight into a two-story, two-family home in Irkutsk.
According to Kobzev, a criminal investigation has begun into the cause of the crash, which resulted in a fire and power outages. He added that the residence has five residents and that none of them were injured.
"I extend my deepest condolences to the pilots' families and friends. This is a tragic situation. It hurts when professionals pass away "Kobzev said.
Kobzev reported that 150 homes were left without power after the collision, and crews are still working to restore power.
