At least two people were murdered, and multiple more were injured in a shooting in a Los Angeles park.
The Los Angeles fire department reported that at least seven persons were sent to local hospitals after a Sunday gunfire erupted in Peck Park in the San Pedro district.
It was reported that the incident occurred at or near a car exhibition and that several people were hurt, some badly.
The Los Angeles police department stated that the gunfire began at 3.50 p.m. and that the event did not involve an active shooter.
Peck Park is 20 miles (32 kilometers) south of downtown Los Angeles, California.
This is the most recent mass shooting in the United States this summer, following incidents in Highland Park, Illinois, Uvalde, Texas, and Buffalo, New York.
The spate of incidents has reignited a heated discussion over why mass shootings continue to occur in the United States and the necessity for new gun access regulations.
