US News said that a 26-year-old man was in custody after one person was murdered and seven others were injured in a shooting at an outdoor festival in eastern Oklahoma early on Sunday morning. Witnesses described frantic individuals rushing for shelter as bullets rang out.
According to a statement from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, Skyler Buckner turned himself into the Muskogee County sheriff's office on Sunday afternoon.
OSBI said that the ages of those shot at the Memorial Day celebration in Taft, located around 45 miles (72 kilometers) southeast of Tulsa, ranged from 9 to 56.
OSBI said that a 39-year-old woman was slain. The injuries sustained by the injured were not considered life-threatening.
OSBI previously stated that two minors were hurt in the incident; however, just one juvenile had been injured as of Sunday afternoon.
The agency reported that witnesses stated an altercation preceded the firing just after midnight.
