Thursday, Johnny Depp's former psychiatrist testified that the actor exhibited "frustration" with Amber Heard during their marriage, comparing her to his abusive mother and calling her a "pain in the rear."

In a deposition, Dr. Alan Blaustein stated that Depp, 58, battled to remain sober while his relationship with the 36-year-old actress disintegrated.

According to a recording of Blaustein's testimony that was played in court, "He used drugs to cope with psychic wounds."

The doctor stated that he raised worry regarding Depp's usage of the ADHD medication Adderall and listed multiple instances in which the "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor violated his vows to remain sober.

According to a message sent to the physician, Depp informed Heard, "You're acting like my mother and psychotic sister." The actor has already claimed that his mother, Betty Sue Palmer, subjected him to physical and psychological abuse as a child.

According to Blaustein's notes from one of their meetings, Depp also described Heard as "such a pain in the arse." He reportedly felt "frustration, impatience, and anger" with Heard during their marriage.

Blaustein, deposed in January 2022, also claimed that Depp and Heard's relationship problems began well before their ill-fated February 2015 wedding.

He remembered the actor suggesting that he "might not want to get married at the age of 51."

"[Their relationship] was full of love, disappointment, and fear," he explained.

Blaustein also testified that, despite the couple's turbulent relationship, he did not recall any instances of physical violence.

Depp is now suing Heard for $50 million, alleging she defamed him in her 2018 Washington Post opinion piece in which she referred to herself as "a public figure representing domestic abuse."

Heard countersues Depp for $100 million, alleging that Depp initiated a smear campaign against her that harmed her career and reputation.

Thursday, the jury heard testimony from many witnesses, including Blaustein, as both sides prepared to conclude their cases next week.
